After finding out season 22 of The Bachelorette was cancelled before it even aired, OnlyFans star Sophie Rain made her bid to be the show’s next star.
The 21-year-old, who made her intention clear in a pitch to ABC on X, launched her OnlyFans page in 2023 and has made over $110 million since.
Why is the show looking for a new star?
Sophie is so desperate to go on the show to find her man that she even said she would take the gig without a paycheck, but the channel has not yet responded.
The original star of the upcoming season, Taylor Frankie Paul, was axed after a 2023 video showing her throwing metal chairs at her ex in front of her then-five-year-old daughter was leaked.
In her pitch to ABC on social media, Sophie simply said: “@BacheloretteABC heard you needed a new bachelorette for this upcoming season,” and men flooded the comments with flattering reasons they should pick her.
One man deemed Sophie “the most desirable single woman”, while another called her a “once in a lifetime” pick.
Miami native Sophie told The New York Post: “They need a real girl like me to come and take it seriously.
“It felt like the perfect moment to throw my name out there and see what happens. Don’t get me wrong I love the show, but I just think after everything that happened, ABC needs a girl like me who can add a good amount of value,” she added.
Why is there so much pressure on which man will win?
Sophie’s unique selling point is that she is a virgin who vows that she will not have sex before marriage.
Her chastity means there are even higher stakes for the 20 men who will compete for her attention on the show, and she believes it will work to her advantage on the show.
“As many people know, I am a virgin, so I take dating very seriously. I won’t do anything with a man unless marriage or God tells me he is the one. I definitely can be flirty, but I would genuinely like to get to know all of the 20 men,” Sophie said.
The brunette beauty explained that it’s difficult to date as an OnlyFans star and devout Christian.
“It makes dating harder because a lot of men come in with assumptions,” she said.
“Some are curious for the wrong reasons, some get insecure, and some like the attention until they realize this is my real life and real business … I don’t really date just to date, I am looking for a Christian man who is ready for marriage.
“Character matters more, though, a must is someone who believes in god and the church,” Sophie added.
The content creator also has 14.9 million TikTok followers, whereas Taylor has 6.1 million, which could seriously help The Bachelorette’s dwindling viewing numbers.
